F3 - Mugello, Free Practice

First day of the fourth round of the Italian F3 Championship on Mugello Circuit with good results for Ombra. The team focused on cars setup both for qualifying session and race with constant progresses in both sessions. Giacomo Barri obtained 1'45"564 that gave him the 12th place, while Alberto Cerqui with 1�46�547 got the 18th place. The times, obtained with used tires, allow to look for tomorrow qualifying in a good mood.

F3 Italia Round 3 � Imola

Imola at the weekend, featuring a hot heat wave, Ombra confirmed the good things shown in the two previous stages of the Italian championship. Alberto Cerqui and Giacomo Barri, seconded the best from all the team have shown a growing feeling with their own cars and a level of performance even closer to the top of the category. Despite pre-season tests carried out on the track near Santerno were not the best, data analysis and work in the Chignolo factory have paid off: the qualifying at Imola ended with the blue cars only three tenths of the best eight major achievement for both riders debuting their third race weekend in Formula 3. F3 - Third round at Imola

The Italian Formula 3 championship, after the German away, back on the peninsula for the third round of the season. Stage of the races will be "Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit" at Imola, newly redesigned and re-opened two seasons ago. On this track, full of charm and history, Ombra seeks to confirm the positive trend in Hockenheim, where Barri and Cerqui have collected their first points for the season standings and were placed in the top ranking in the category reserved for newcomers. In a championship as balanced as this year will be crucial the qualifying that for the first time this season, should not be disturbed by rain, according to weather forecasts that give hot weather throughout the weekend. F3 Italia Round 2 Hockenheim

A good weekend for Ombra at Hockenheim, in the second round of the Italian Formula 3 championship. Since the first round of free practices both Barri and Cerqui expressed immediately the potential of the cars, taking advantage of the excellent work done last month in testing at this track. Times arrived without forcing, with benefits that put the two pilots at the top between newcomers and in an excellent position in the overall standings: Cerqui sixteenth and Barri fifth overall, with some optimism for qualifying. Despite the downpour at the start of qualifying, everything was getting better with Barri at the top of the time - his at that moment the four best results on the track - and Cerqui in the top ten, but unfortunately due to a stop red flag for an incident to another car, turned the final minutes in a lottery, with lots of traffic and track increasingly dry, a situation that has come to penalize Ombra drivers, paired at the end, in the seventh row. Starting at the center grid means to be in full scrimmage in the first lap, unfortunately in the excited phases after the start of race one were fatal to Barri, which during the second lap had to pit after making contact with an opponent. Cerqui has instead set his race with a steady pace and, thanks to the last lap overtaking the damage done by Lee, has kept the thirteenth starting position that earned him the third place among the beginners. Cerqui waited for the race situation to stabilize and then forcing their own pace and move up the standings to finish ninth. Both Giacomo and Alberto thus have gained the first points for the championship, capturing respectively the first and third highest for the rookies. Troubled qualifying session, with heavy rain at the start that lead the direction to put the red flag with Barri holding the pole. At re-start, the track dried and Chaves got the leading. 13th Cerqui, 14th Barri.

First approach with Hockenheim track before the two races scheduled for saturday and sunday. In the first session fifth place for Barri and seventeenth for Cerqui. In the second session both Ombra guys improve their performances, Barri got a fifth place, while Cerqui climbed a step until sixteen.

F3 - Test day at Imola

Day of collective testing at the "Enzo e Dino Ferrari" track in Imola for the protagonists of the Italian Formula 3 Championship. Morning disturbed by the rain, but the weather rapidly improved without hindering further the work program for Ombra team, on track with the two race drivers and Barri Cerqui. After the excellent results obtained in previous tests at Hockenheim, near Santerno the team has experienced some difficulties in the way, therefore unable to translate into performance absolute full potential available. The data collected will be used but to the whole staff to work in the factory Chignolo, in order to solve these problems for the race in July.

F3 Historic - Fantastic weekend in Montecarlo

A really exciting debut for Ombra on the prestigious stage of Monaco at the seventh edition of the Grand Prix Historique, a weekend as leading actors ended with a memorable hat-trick: pole position, victory and fastest lap in the race! The Italian team took to the streets of the Principality a wonderful Martini MK 34 Toyota-powered in 1981, that came a few months ago in the factory of Chignolo d'Isola and completely restored by the Historic Division. Emanuele Pirro in the car, a five times winner at Le Mans driver integrated well with the guys, giving his fundamental contribution to this great result. It was with this car, in this livery, that in 1981, Emmanuel had played the European Formula 3 championship. "It 's been a fantastic weekend full of emotions" are the words of the Ombra team. "Even being in Monaco is something important to us, that made the passion for motorsport our job, being there and get such a result is even more exciting and rewarding. Obviously, a special thanks to Emanuele Pirro for the human and professional contribution. "

F3 Italia Round 1 Misano

Difficult weekend but full of positive signs for Ombra in seasonal debut at Misano, the scene of the first round of the Italian Formula 3. Unfavorable weather conditions, with rain in the first two days, they haven't certainly facilitated the task of young rookies Barri and Cerqui, this was the first time with a real qualifying session. In a championship with 30 cars at the start, qualifying session assumes great importance, but the rain and a little traffic problems did not allow both drivers to realize the potential they have shown in practice. After the session Barri obtained the 16th place performance while conquering the 22nd Cerqui place. The first race kicks off in a light rain but annoying. The start was not the best for the pilots of the Italian team in fact Cerqui following the hectic period after the departure was penalized with a drive-through that compromised the race, then finished in 28th place. Barri, however, struggling easily in center group, was the victim of a spin after contact with Mertens and took over the track and ended the first contest in 22nd place (7th among the beginners). The Ombra Box has certainly not demoralized, has worked hard on the cars to set the trim on a dry race, saw the sun appeared on Sunday morning, providing the two pilots of high-performance machines, as evidenced by the splendid comebacks made by both. Barri was on the pace of the best and with a series of exciting overtaking reached eighth place and first among the newcomers. Cold shower, however, both for him and for the team after the race when the commissioners have imposed a penalty of 25 seconds for overtaking under a yellow flag, which receded in 17th position. Also Cerqui, after a difficult start, has started a very steady climb that took him from the back up to the 16th place finish (5th among rookies). The race on Sunday, run in dry conditions, gave a great boost of confidence to the team leaving the Misano circuit with consciousness of their potential and confident of being able to play the top positions since the next race at Hockenheim. Massimo Pollini, Technical Director: "Misano was an important moment in the history of our team because the return to Italy after several seasons abroad. Looking at only the cold numbers of the charts can not be defined certainly an exciting weekend, but analyzing deeper we find many positive signs for our team and our drivers. Both Giacomo and Alberto, making their debut in the category, they found difficult weather conditions that certainly did not help, but in race 2 we showed with them our full potential despite the unfavorable starting positions. We accept the management's decision on the race overtaking under a yellow flag carried by Barri, even if not fully agree because the opponent was off course, already determined to return to the pits. But we are very confident went on for the championship because the times in the race showed that we are competitive and we can stay with top teams."

F3 - Misano: the start of the season

The wait is finally over, tomorrow officially will begin the season at Misano for Team Ombra: an important season that marks the return of the team from Bergamo in Italy. F3 - Giacomo Barri joins Ombra for 2010

After a winter of hard work both on the track and in the Chignolo d'Isola factory, Ombra and Giacomo Barri have reached an agreement to continue the fruitful collaboration in the Italian Formula 3 championship which starts this weekend on the track in Misano. The young pilot from Cant�, after two seasons in Formula Renault 2.0, was able to become familiar with the Dallara Fiat engine in several rounds of tests carried out during the winter season, already showing a good feeling with the car and the team. Massimo Pollini, Technical Director: "The whole team has been very impressed by Giacomo attitude in the new experience. He quickly found the feeling with the car, both for the adjustments and for the speed performances. The feeling with the team was immediate, so it seemed natural to find both the agreement for the championship about to begin, make sure that the collaboration will lead to interesting results."

F3 - Last test at Misano

Last two days of testing at Misano for Ombra before Italian Formula 3 first round, which will start next week right on Misano track. The Dallara of Cerqui (photo by f3italia.it) and Barri, back on track in the usual blue of the Italian team, struggled against the rain Tuesday morning, but in the afternoon the track dried. Thanks to favorable weather situation for the second day, the work program was completed by both pilots, who were able to develop the best cars for the forthcoming races. The date is Friday, April 23 at Misano with the first practice session of the inaugural stage of the championship in 2010.

F3 - Test day at Imola
At two weeks to Italian Formula 3 championship start, Ombra was back on track yesterday, April 7, for a day of testing at Imola. This was the first contact for both the team and the drivers Cerqui and Barri, with the new configuration of the track on the banks of Santerno. The very favorable weather conditions (sunshine and spring temperatures) the work of the team from Bergamo was focused on finding the best set-ups for different track conditions. At the end of the session both Cerqui and Barri totaled an important numbers of kilometers, by which improved their feeling with the car.

F3 - Test day at Mugello
Test day on Tuscan Mugello track for Alberto Cerqui and Giacomo Barri (in the picture) for Ombra. It wasn't a chrono session, but only targeted sessions to allow the two driver to take confidence with the circuit, for none of the two had never drive a F3 car in it. Now attention is focused on next week test on a track to be determined.

F3 - Test continued at Varano and Monza
Two more test days for Ombra on the way to the F3 Italian Championship. Thursday 25th february the team was on Varano track with Alberto Cerqui. More than 100 laps for 2009 Formula Azzurra Champion that got more experience with Dallara-Fiat, he also signed good chrono results. At the end of the day Ombra guys put all the stuffs on the truck and took the way to Monza were Friday 26th the tests continued with Giacomo Barri on second Ombra car. The young driver (in the picture), third test with a F3 car, after taking confince with the wet track during the morning, in the afternoon with dry track and sun, has improved his chrono reaching top five using just one new tires set. Similar trend for Cerqui, but the driver, who was improving his times, couldn't end his session - and using new tires for an exit at Ascari curve- Alberto lose grip after going on a wet zone outside the track. Good, in both sessions, the technical results and the solutions studied by Ombra staff.

Finally Ombra guys, despite this endless winter, were able to take a two-days test session on Misano circuit. Last thursday and friday, with bad weather conditions, Alberto Cerqui took place in his Dallara-Fiat cockpit to continue his training for the first F3 Italian Championship race scheduled in two months right there in Misano. The first day with fog and humidity, the driver faced and intense training plan. He did lots of kilometers with no problems and achieving a good confidence with the car. Friday came with a unwelcome gift: a cold boring rain. Cerqui, seeking more feeling with the car, went out in the morning session, extra work for the team and the young pilot was able to be back in the afternoon to end the work. Massimo Pollini: "Alberto needs to be on track as much as possible and that was this two days goal, no matter what the time was. To get a good feeling with the car he had to find the limit with every condition. The car gave us good technical results". Next test is scheduled for friday 26th on Monza home track.

Last test in Barcelona
Last 2009 season act for Ombra in Catalunya, 17th and 18th december the Italian team was on Circuit de Catalunya track, near Barcelona, for a two days test with Alberto Cerqui and Giacomo Barri (picture above).
The weather conditions were quite good -covered the first day and sunny the second- and allowed on both Fiat powered Dallara, different aerodynamics and technical solutions prepared by the team considering next season. It was the chance for team and drivers to take more confidence with Kuhmo tires. The work scheduled was taken to the end with no problems and with positive results. The team will be back for further tests after the Holidays.

Test day for Ombra and Rafael Suzuki
Last 11th December Ombra was back on track in Varano de' Melegari "Riccardo Paletti" race track for a test session with Dallara F308-Fiat. It was a very important day watching 2010 season for the car got for the first time with Kumho tires, new Italian F3 official supplier. In the cockpit a seen face in Ombra, The brazilian with Japanese origins Rafael Suzuki, that Ombra met as an opponent in 2008 German Championship. There was immediately a perfect feeling between driver and team that allowed the work being done at the best. "A very useful day" these were Ombra team words at the end of the day. "We used Kumho tires for the first time ever on our car and we got immediately interesting results. We're also very happy of Rafael effort, we knew his quality yet, for his pluriannual experience in the category he found very soon the car skills, and he got very important time references." Ombra will be back on 17th and 18th December in Barcelona with two car for Alberto Cerqui and Giacomo Barri.

Cerqui testing in Castrezzato
Saturday 21st November on Franciacorta racetrack in Castrezzato (BS), inside the Mirabella Milleglia team event, Ombra and Alberto Cerqui did two short practice sessions, half an hour each, with next season Dallara-FTP. For the young "enfant du pays" has been the occasion to celebrate at home the Formula Azzurra title. Despite the not so good track conditions for the historic cars several sessions taken during the day, Alberto, yet very knit with the whole Ombra team, had the first chance to make his first laps with dry conditions and improve his feeling with the car.

Ombra on track with Auto GP
17th and 18th November on Magione track the new born Auto GP Serie, start scheduled in April 2010, had two test days. Thanks to confirmed collaboration between Ombra and Auto GP Organisation the session for newbye drivers saw Ombra staff partecipating with two cars. Every pilot had twenty laps dedicated sessions. Various drivers alternates in Ombra box all followed with the usual Ombra professionality and skill, none got problems and everyone remained well impressed by competitiveness of the cars e most by the power of the 8 cilinder Zytek that fit Lola B05/52.

Congratulations Alberto!
Alberto Cerqui, Ombra driver for next season F3 Italian Championship, yesterday, after four busy days on Vallelunga track, gained 2009 CSAI Supercorso Federale velocity category. All Ombra staff congratulete Alberto for his success, good prologue for a season that announce itself full of satisfactions both for team and driver.

Second test day in Varano
Second test day for Ombra in Varano. Driver was young Giacomo Barri at his debut after a season in Swiss Formula Renault 2.0. According good meteo the test permitted the team to verify the goodness of some changes made after the first laps made ten days ago on Varano track. Giacomo impressed in good way the team, at his first test on a Dallara F3, increased his confidence with the car. At the end of the day, despite the fatigue, Barri got also absolute chrono results, proof of the reached full confidence of the car. �We�re very satisfied of this second day on track� these were Pollini�s words at the end of the day. The enthusiasm in the factory is very present, after last week debut the team worked hard to made the first changes to the cars that did yet very well. We�re very happy to have worked with Giacomo, who estabilished soon a good mood with all the team, that became then a good test day in which he took also a good confidence with the car getting good chrono results.�

Alberto Cerqui joins Ombra for 2010
New arrival in Ombra: it�s Alberto Cerqui, Formula Azzurra new Champion, he�s the first driver chosen by the team to participate to next year Italian F3 Championship. After the first meeting between driver and team on Varano de Melegari track, very positive for both came easily the idea to continue the collaboration. Today the last details were defined and the agreement was signed. It�ll be an intense winter of work both for Alberto and the Ombra team, on track and in factory to get ready at the very best for next season. Ombra confirms participation in AutoGP
Still two months until new year, but for Ombra is always ready for 2010. After the Italian F3 return confirm another news comes from Chignolo factory. After 2009 season, where Ombra managed the FMSI cars with very good results and teams title win, adding 7 wins 11 podiums and two drivers struggling for final victory til last lap, Ombra renews its collaboration with AutoGP management. In 2010 Ombra will be busy on new born AutoGP tracks, a new serie with a new formula and prizes management, that will overtake the Euroseries3000 place. �The confirmation of our commitment in AutoGP is for us very important for comes after last season, ended three weeks ago in Monza, good results� these were Massimo Pollini, Ombra manager, words. �It�ll be interesting to measure last season experience with these cars with the new formula studied by organization�.

Ombra back in the Italian Championship, first test in Varano
Big news from Ombra Racing: the team from Chignolo will be back in Formula 3 partecipating to Italian Championship, stage Ombra left as Champion in 2004. Ombra will use the experience made during these years at international level, lining up two cars with the intention to be one of the top teams of the Championship. Frenetic days of hard work in Chignolo d�Isola factory followed the decision of the return in Italy to setup the cars with Fiat FTP engine. The first one tested the Varano de� Melagari track Monday, despite the heavy rain, driven by Alberto Cerqui. A debut on a F3 car for the recent winner of Formula Azzurra Championship. �After the revival of the Italian Championship and the good work done by CSAI in the last two seasons, has come for us the moment to come back in our country� these were the words of the team partners at the closing of this fundamental day. �It�s the further challenge for Ombra: coming back in Italy to confirm in the Championship that saw our F3 debut and the victory. We don�t want to do statements, as usual we let talk the results, aware that work, on track and out of it, always pays. Euro Series 3000 - Round 6 Monza
Last EuroSeries3000 weekend on Monza circuit, home race for Ombra Racing that led to the tack the FMSI black cars. On the Autodromo Nazionale track too, the performances were on highest level. Saturday qualifying session saw the three FMSI cars at first three places. In order closed Gonzalez, Bonanomi and Onidi closed in only 41 ms. The race 1 start was very confused and saw Bratt take advantage of it finishing first before Gonzalez and Bonanomi, not lucky Onidi who went out at Parabolica just before the first lap. Sunday race, with inverted grid, saw Bonanomi starting at the turning off of the lights and going not disturbed to the victory. At his back struggle between Onidi, Bratt and Gonzalez, but the two FMSI drivers failed, both at Lesmo, closing respectively at fourth and third place. The final standing awarded Bratt for most second places conquered after that he tied points and wins with Bonanomi. Euro Series 3000 - Round 5 Vallelunga
Also in Round 5 of EuroSeries 300 campionship, in Vallelunga, FMSI cars and drivers, supported by Ombra Racing staff, were on the top. After a difficult qualifying race, Bonanomi third, Onidi fourth and Gonzalez sixth, in the two proper races arrived impressive results. In race 1 Bonanomi built his success from the start, after that he was in the rear of poleman Bratt, passing him and going for a solo win was the natural ending of his action. Onidi too started well when the lights turned off getting the lowest step of the podium. 8th place for Gonzalez and points enough to conquer the teams championship. A slightly rain caused many dangers in Sunday race. Inverted grid saw Gonzalez leading easy, but just before half of the race the rain started falling heavily, opposite choice for the two other FMSI drivers: Bonanomi changed tires while Onidi preferred the slicks one. Winning choice for Onidi for the intensity of the rain calmed down, leaving a slippery track, helping him to reach Gonzalez and passing him at 3 laps to the end. Bonanomi paid the choice with a sixth place. The title will be assigned on 17th-18th october on Monza circuit: able to win the two FMSI drivers Onidi and Bonanomi with only Bratt that can still have chance.

Euro Series 3000 - Round 4 Valencia
A weekend full of satisfactions for Ombra Racing guys in Euro 3000 where they take care of Fisichella Motor Sport International three cars. On Valencia track, dedicated to Ricardo Tormo, three races were scheduled to recover Donington weekend, scratched for managing troubles. So, there were two qualifying sessions. Bonanomi got the pole position in second session and the first row in both. Onidi finished fourth in both qualifying, while Gonzalez made sixth. Saturday race was very unlucky for Bonanomi forced to retire due to a friction problem, the team pride was held by Onidi, fastest lap, second after a tough race, fifth the Venezuelan Gonzalez. In Sunday race 1 Bonanomi�s will made the difference, the Italian driver took the best from the pole position leaving the others and conquering fastest lap and victory. Onidi gained two places finishing second. Fourth place for Gonzalez. The last race of the weekend, with the inverted grid, saw FMSI drivers trying to comeback, with another podium for Onidi finished third after him Gonzalez and Bonanomi fastest lap again. After the Spanish weekend the standing see Onidi leading with 49 points, two points behind him Bonanomi, fifth Gonzalez, 25 points for him. In the teams one FMSI consolidate the first place. �An intense weekend� quoted Massimo Pollini �both for the very close program with three races scheduled and for the extra work for Bonanomi�s friction problem. We got truly good results and the general standings are by our side, Onidi and Bonanomi both can get the final victory.

Euro Series 3000 - Round 3 Zolder
After the summer break, Euroseries 3000 was back on the historical track of Zolder in Belgium, where the Fisichella Motorsport International, whose cars are managed by Ombra Racing, confirmed the two former rounds good results. The team lined up Onidi, Gonzalez and the new driver Bonanomi, Championship leader and winner in Magny Cours. For the Euroseries 3000 races were planned during the 24 Hours weekend, the free practices and qualifying were hold during thursday; Bonanomi signed the first place. Gonzalez shared with him the first row while Onidi was fifth. After friday as a day off, on saturday were scheduled the two races. The first one was decided at the start: Gonzalez catched by surprise Bonanomi at the first turn at went on to conquer the first seasonal win. Bonanomi kept the second place, while Onidi closed fourth. The second race, reversed grid, saw Onidi with a good start from the third row that led him just after the poleman Bratt, keeping the second place until the checkered flag. Bonanomi and Gonzalez after race 1 double, started from the fourth row, were fifth and sixth. "Since the beginning of the weekend we have been extremely competitives" said Davide Mazzoleni (near Gonzalez on race 1 podium in the picture). "One pole, one victory, two second places and a fast lap is what we bring home from Zolder, and has to be underlined the leadership of the teams standing and our driver are at the top of their board: we're quite satisfied!".

Euro Series 3000 - Round 2 Magny Cours
Second Round of Euroseries 3000 on the French track in Magny Cours and again a very positive weekend for FMSI cars managed on field by Ombra Racing structure. With the confirned Onidi and Gonzalez has raced the English Ben Hanley, former GP2 and World Series Renault driver. Saturday was very busy: free practice, qualifying and race 1. Best performance for the Milanese driver Onidi, fifth under the checkered flag, after a second row start; Hanley, who was on the track for the first time this season, kept his sixth starting place, while the Venezuelan Gonzalez got the tenth place. Sunday the drivers did the best with the cars they got after the Ombra touch: race 2 ended in glory with Hanley win and Onidi second place (in the photo with Davide Mazzoleni aside the drivers) for a splendid double completed by Gonzalez fifth place. �We�re absolutely very happy for this first taste of this series, in two weekends we gained two wins in four races, the results achieved show the high quality of our work both on track and in the workshop: our lead driver is only three points behind the top of the chart and also for the teams one we�re in a good place�.

Agreement with Fisichella Motor Sport International S.P.A. for Euroseries 3000 Championship
Few days ago has benn officialized agreement between Ombra and Fisichella Motor Sport Internatinal S.P.A. for the management of the cars that partecipate to Euroseries 3000 championship. After the signign the Chignolo d�Isola structure has received the three Lola B0552 (former A1GP) Zytek powered and all the material to start working targeting the first championship race on portoguese track in Portimao. The agreement has been welcomed with great satisfaction by both teams, Fisichella Motor Sport International S.P.A. gives their cars to a high level and expert structure, while Ombra can face a top rated championship like Euroseries 3000 and get back at International level. Shakedown in Castrezzato
First season shakedown for Ombra at Castrezzato�s Franciacorta track, after winter work, the Chignolo d�isola team Dallara 308 are now ready for UK formula 3 championship. The cars were taken on the track by Davide Mazzoleni and Massimo Rossi that achieved wonderful crono time, confirming the value of the development works done in the headquarter during winter. Ombra not only dedicated to modern cars, but brought back to the track two jewels brought to the ancient shine after the wise cares of the boys of the team: a 1984 Ralt RT3 and a 1973 Brabham BT41 that attracted fans and experts present on the track. Both cars showed no problems during their touring and they revealed themselves still competitive. Tonight at Bobadilla in Dalmine (www.bobadilla.it), there willl be the official Ombra Racing 2009 season presentation, buffet dinner with the Dallara 308 and historic cars exposed.

Ombra Racing ready for new season
Despite winter is considered the motorsport dead season, in chignolo d�isola garage, Ombra Racing headquarter, in this period too they workwith the usual passion and enthusiasm. The complete review of the two Dallara F308, back from Macao, have been the main commitment, the cars that the next month will start the road to the first seasonal race in British F3 championship. The �man in blue� also take to the end two more projects. The first was a complete restoration of a 1973 BT41 Brabham, you can see some images in photogallery section. Now these kind of works are four, both single-seater cars and sport, another confirm of the level of competence and professionality achieved by chignolo�s side. The second one is about the mithycal �formulino� that gave the first trophies to Ombra. The two MP01 are back where have been revisioned, to enable the two cars to be used on track for promotional events with partners and sponsors too.

Ombra in British F3 Championship 2009
After only two weeks from prestigous Macau date, perfect completation of a great season both in German ATS Formel 3 Cup and British F3 in the home round in Monza, Chignolo d�Isola team announced 2009 season programs. It�ll be prestigious British Formula 3 International Series the stage on which the blue Dallara F308 Mugen Honda powered will show. The support of Neil Brown Engineering, European market Japanese engines developer, allowed Ombra to take this fundamental step, the logistic support in UK will be in Spalding, in Lincolnshire, where NBE has its home. �British F3 is one of the most prestigious championships in Formula 3 for its history and value of drivers and for us will be a great challenge� declared as one Ombra Racing partners. �Neil Brown partnership has been fundamental to start this new adventure, now as usual we let the results speak.�

Macau Day 4 - Race
Final act of the 55th Macau Grand Prix with the 15 laps proper race, the worldwide recognized F3 World Championship in a single race. Today too the first km have determined the result of the entire race. Just after the start, in the straight before the Mandarin turn, Streit and Bird crashes creating some turmoil in the cars group. Winslow, af�ter a good start, avoided contacts, but at the Lisboa curve he found the track closed by Ericsson car who crashed against the barrier. Suddendly he was at 20th place, he recovered three places in three laps, but pushing to reduce the gap he did a mistake at the Police curve ending his race with a crash against the rail in lap 6. Same destiny for Matsushita, very smart in the first moments of the race, he was 12th after the first lap, but he did a mistake too at lap 6 closing Ombra adventure in Macau. Bitter feelings in Ombra box at the end of the race � Hartley and Maki 3rd and 4th under the checkered flag, started after Matsushita, while Vanthoor, 6th, was side by side with Winslow at the start, but also the consciuosness to have shown on the track the strenght of the team also in a prestigious place like Macau is. Ends here an intense and full of satisfaction season for chignolo d�isola team, some rest after the Asian tour de force and then everything will be focused on next season. Macau Day 3 - Qualification Race
Macau Grand Prix first stage today on Circuito da Guia; ten laps for the Qualification race to decide the starting grid of the proper race scheduled tomorrow. As always in Macau, very important has been the first turn, the Lisboa curve, the most spectacular point of the track. After the long and wide straight the cars find a 90 degrees right turn, with the track that suddendly becomes very narrow: at the start there are almost thirty drivers who long to gain positions and this causes many contacts. When the lights turned off Winslow started well, at the notorious Lisboa curve he read at the best the situation avoiding contacts and gaining ten positions at the end of the first lap. After the safety car did his job, the English struggled with Cozzolino, Campos-Hull and Vanthoor getting a very good 11th place that gave him the 6th row for Sunday race. Masaki Matsushita too did a great start keeping himself away from first lap chaos and with a safe race got the 17th place, marking a positive +13 from the start and the 9th row. Macau Day 2 - Free Practice & Qualifying
Macau Grand Prix day two. All the attentions were to the afternoon session, the one that determined the starting grid for tomorrow qualification race. Bad news for Matsushita that have been penalized for not stopping at the red light at pit enter for technical controls during the first qualifying session. The Japanese will start at the end of the grid, whatever result he may get. Free practices with focus on tires and cars saving for the qualify. Ombra drivers too followed the trend: Winslow closed with the 23rd place and Matsushita 29th. The main session has been characterized by two red flag stops for car accidents and several exposure of yellow flags that forced drivers to slow down during their potential fast laps. These situations involved Ombra team too; Winslow, that improved by one second his best, got the 22nd place in qualification race, while Matsushita, due the penalty, will start from the last row. Macau Day 1 - Free Practice & Qualifying
Ombra Racing adventure at the Macau Grand Prix 55th edition has began. The terrible seven Km city track is waiting. The Dallara powered Mugen Honda, with the usual mastercraft setup of the Chignolo d�Isola team, showed since the first session their potential. The English James Winslow, who did an experience on this track in 2006, got the 11th place. Some more difficult for Matsushita at his first laps between these rail and walls, he closed at 30th place. The afternoon session, that determined the provisional starting grid for Saturday qualification race, has been troubled, as always here in Macau. The last red flag involved both Ombra drivers: Matsushita crashed the car while Winslow was facing his best performance, he was presumed to be in top ten, for this reason the English signed the 17th time, while the Japanese finished at 26th place. Lot of work at Ombra Racing box to put the car 26 in good shape for tomorrow qualifiyng practice. The team is very confident after the choice to save the new tires for the second qualifying session. Ombra Racing at work in Macao
We�ve almost reached the race of the year eve, the most expected Formula 3 event, the Macao Grand Prix. Ombra Racing crew reached former portoguese colony on Monday evening and since today they�re at work in their box, where they found the two Dallara 308 Mugen Honda and all the stuff that left Chignolo d�Isola two weeks ago. Ombra Racing back to Macao
The 55th Macau Grand Prix Edition entry list has been released last week. The two Ombra Racing Dallara 308 Mugen-Honda will partecipate at the race on mithycal �Circuito de Guia� 13th-16th november. The race, at all effects the Formula 3 World Campionship, is the most important date of the Formula 3 season. Ombra will race there for the fourth time, challenging the best European and Japanese teams. It�s a very important achievement for Ombra considering that the this was only the fifth season in this category for the Italian team. In former four edition Ombra showed no reverential fear for the other teams and distinguished itself for competitiveness. Paolo Montin 8th place in 2005 is the best result for Ombra, when only a hit in the lasts lap prevent him to struggle for the final victory. This time Ombra drivers will be James Winslow and Masaki Matsushita. The first one, English , 27 years old, 2007 Formula Renault V6 Asia Champion, in this season is the Australian F3 winner with 5 wins and 4 podiums. The second one, Japanese, 22 years old, finished 3rd in Japanese F3 National Class, 2 wins and 10 podiums. In Chignolo d�Isola the works are at full steam, both the cars will make a shake down session Wednesday in Imola, both tested by Federico Leo. ATS F3 Cup - Oschersleben, Race 2
Oschersleben race 2 was a good close for Ombra Racing Championship. Philipp Eng confirmed what he had shown in Saturday race, even if he didn�t reached the podium. Starting seventh the Austrian driver climbed to the fourth place. In his second F.3 weekend he collected 11 points in the general standing, an outstanding debut with Ombra Racing. Federico Leo, differently from race 1, has reached the finish line in ninth place, the same as the start, after a duel with Ukraine Chukanov that close him the points positions. ATS F3 Cup - Oschersleben, Race 1: Podium for Eng!
Remarkable debut for Philipp Eng with Ombra Racing. The Austrian, after a good start, went ahead Tweraser and Cecotto, placing in third position after Saavedra. He reached the second position after leader Vanthoor was forced to quit, but he had to leave the position to Cecotto in the very close ending of the race: brilliant final third place although in his third F3 race! Very unluck performance for Federico Leo, the young Milanese driver did as usual a good start, he was seventh after a tough race, but a technical problem stopped him two laps before the end. British F3 - Ombra Racing is the protagonist in Monza
A great week en that one which has just ended in Monza for the Italian race of the famous British F3 International Series. Ombra was the great protagonist and it confirmed the great beginning of the season. Although the team from Bergamo surrounding showed off in the most famous and important championship with a car - the new Dallara F308 � which just had a quick shake down three weeks ago and it proved all its potential with a third place in the first session of the trail runs with Matteo Chinosi, leader of the ATS Formel 3 Cup. Federico Leo too, even if at the third racing week end in this category and on his debut in such a qualified background, he had constant progress in every sessions. After the delay for the driving rain during the qualification for the race 1, scheduled for the Friday afternoon, for the two grids of starting only the Saturday session was performed on the wet path. The best two times for every pilots were considered and in the last two Matteo Chinosi performed two good times, missing for few seconds the checked flag and he finished the last section with a chronometer result and a pole position for the race 1. The next to last tour gave him the second place fro the Sunday race. Federico Leo finished the session with the 28th place for both races but with a relevant improvement in his chronometer times during the session: in fact it must be considered that thi was his first debut on a wet path with Formula3. At the start of the race 1 the attention was focused on Ombra car nr. 71 in pole position. On a almost dry path, Chinosi faced the first series of bends in the second position, he demonstrated he could play at the same level with high level pilots in the English championship. Unfortunately a bagarre in a bend made him losing his position and he lost the podium but he finished on a 8th place rich in meaning as he was the best position in the wild car and rewarded with a trophy by the legendary John Surtees. Federico Leo after a gasping start was able to avoid collisions at the first bend and he arrived at the top ten edge. The rain made him proceed to a quieter rhythm and made him finished to a 14th place, on such a glorious stage. In the Sunday afternoon of race 2, there were Chinosi in first place again and Leo greed to repeat the good performance of the first race. The rain was again a protagonist just before the start : a critic situation to face. At the start Matteo was in second position while Federico showed again his skills gaining 6th place. Unfortunately an opponent knocked his car and made him unable to go on and finish the race. After two laps with safety car, the race would re-start, with an increasing rain and creating an exclusively English path. Chinosi fought with the best pilot in the lot, and he finished the race at 8th place. An extraordinary week end for Ombra has just ended and it confirmed the good start in 2008 ATS Formel 3 Cup, Ombra showed the team could run at the same level with the English championship leaders � a championship considered the most selective the insiders said. Ombra gained a pole position which would last in British F3 memorial and it positioned Italy as a leader in the international field. Massimo Pollini, Technical Director:�It has been a week end full of satisfactions: we arrived with new cars with just 20 days old proofs. Although this technical conditions and different tires compared with those we used in our championship, we were at the top form the very beginning and we had a pole position and a second time which were very good. In races we ran with weather conditions good for English pilots but we fought very well in the championship which is considered the hardest in all the Formula 3: we would like to leave our mark and we did it. I would like to thank all the team who worked without a break for being here: if we count on the next it will be 4 race week end on 5 � and it will be the third at a stretch, a tour de force. ATS F3 Cup 2008 - Good start for Ombra
First step on the season 2008 with official tests for ATS Formel 3 Cup which took place in Hockenheim. A first successful step indeed for Ombra Racing just form the beginning when in the morning Matteo Chinosi was high speed for time ranking and he concluded at 2nd place in the two sessions. A good job for Federico Leo too (in the picture) who succeeded in the 6th place both in the morning and in the afternoon, with an improvement of about 0,6 sec. from one session to the other. Massimo Rossi was very successful too and he ended the test at 4th place in Trophy category but with detaches very contained with their opponents. Massimo Pollini, Technical Manager:� We are completely satisfied about this first step which was a confirmation in the first chance to compete with our future opponents during the season. We have potentials for the ranking and the trophy too, now we are looking forward the race week end!�.

La scorsa settimana, Ombra Racing ha effettuato due giornate di test sull'impegnativo circuito del Laustizring, posto nel nord della Germania. Erano presenti tutti i tre piloti che parteciperanno alla ATS Formel 3 Cup che prender� il via tra 3 settimane a Hockenheim. Nella prima giornata di test Matteo Chinosi, Federico Leo e Massimo Rossi hanno potuto svolgere un buon lavoro concentrandosi sulla ricerca del miglior setup e sulla simulazione di alcuni long run. Purtroppo nella seconda giornata la situazione meteorologica � peggiorata, con pioggia a sprazzi e pista costantemente bagnata, impendendo al team di completare il previsto programma sulla ricerca della performance sul giro singolo. Uomini e mezzi di Ombra hanno poi fatto ritorno nella sede di Chignolo, dove gli uomini della squadra stanno gi� ultimando le ultime revisioni prima della presentazione ufficiale della ATS Formel 3 Cup che avverr� il 21 aprile a Hockenheim.

Good job in Hockenheim
After the Oschersleben test, others two days on track for Ombra Racing the slid week, Thursday 27 and Fridays 28 in Hockenheim, where in a month it will take to the way the ATS Formel 3 Cup. The team is come down in track to the suit, with the debut of Massimo Rossi, that she has taken advantage of these test in order to resume confidence with the car. Rossi and the others two drivers, Chinosi and Leo, have focused the job on the search of the best setting for the April race. These tests have represented, moreover, the first comparison with the competitors, since in track there were also the cars of other teams engaged in the ATS Formel 3 Cup. The first verdicts of the chronometer, even though unofficial, have been decidedly encouraging. Massimo Pollini, Technical Manager: "Also in Hockenheim we wanted confirmations about the goodness of the job made on factory in the course of the winter and we have had to them. We focused on the job in a race point of view: only 4 weeks separate us from the beginning of the championship. It's not our habit to attend too much to the chronometer during the tests, but this time there were also adversaries in track: without easy enthusiasms, we can be thought extremely satisfied." The Ombra Racing pre-season job continued: the team returned in Germany this morning, for other two days of test that will be carried out on the Lausitzring track, tomorrow and Wednesday.

First test in Germany
First week of job for Ombra Racing in Germany. On Monday and Tuesday Matteo Chinosi and Federico Leo have been engaged on the Nurburgring circuit on which two races of the ATS Formel 3 Cup will be carried out. Monday, characterized also from the sleet that to splashes came down from the sky, has been used from both the drivers in order to resume the automatism, after the Varano's shake-down. On Tuesday instead, in spite of the low temperatures, the job program has been carried out; the top point is to the costance on the long-run that to the performance on the single lap. On Wednesday the square has been moved to Oschersleben. In the afternoon Chinosi and Leo have observed the other drivers engaged in the tests in order to study the trajectories, while on Thursday they are come down in track in order to conclude the test week. Even though with little favourable conditions weather (rain to splashes and track conditions that quickly changed) also on this track the replies have been absolutely positive. Massimo Pollini, Technical Manager: "After the Varano's shake-down these tests represented the first verification of the winter's job on the cars: the result has been wide satisfactory, we has collected more information that they will be a lot important at the moment of the races on these track. Matteo after the first day to the Nurburgring has resumed the guide automatism, optimizing the job on tracks that already knows. Federico, instead, has due to them before to learn, but old this obstacle has confirmed the increase of his performance." The next Ombra Racing test is previewed for Thursday 27th in Hockenheim, where it will be present also Massimo Rossi.

Positive shake-down in Varano
It has been carried out yesterday, on the race track of Varano de' Melegari entitled to Riccardo Paletti, the first test of Ombra Racing in sight of the next ATS Formel 3 Cup. The drivers Matteo Chinosi and Federico Leo have resumed confidence with their Dallara F306 - Mugen Honda carrying out a shake-down verification of the predisposed technical innovations from the team during the winter pause. Although the not perfect conditions of the track, the Team has been able to carry out the program of the day. Massimo Pollini, Technical Manager: "Fortunately the weather has been more kinder regarding Misano. It has been just a shake-down of the cars, we have not absolutely attended to the chronometer but to verify the job carried out in workshops in the past weeks. The answers have been decidedly positive: we leave trusting for the Germany, where we will be busy for 3 days of test the next week."

Massimo Rossi with Ombra Racing in 2008
Ombra Racing defines the last member of his crew for the season 2008. The 25 years old Massimo Rossi will complete the staff for the ATS Formula 3 Cup. Rossi will drive the Dallara F304 with the engine Mugen Honda which the scuderia from Bergamo will have in the Trophy, the class reserved for car built until 2004. Massimo, who debuted in Formula 3 just in Ombra in 2006, will be able to show the expertise he gained in German circuits in the last two seasons, trying to reach the first places in his class and good placements in classification too. In the next weeks there will be a well nourished timetable for tests for the opening of the season next 26/27 April in Hockenheim circuit. Massimo Rossi:� I�m very enthusiastic about that; I am honoured to drive a Ombra�s Dallara. Formula 3 is a very difficult class but it is essential having the background and know-how of these first category technicians: Ombra proved to be in years a reality who interpreted at her best this global category. I�m sure I will have all the chances and the ways to gain results apt to be in the Ombra team and I�m looking forward to test myself. The first test of 2008 season postponed
The rain won the match in Misano. In fact due to the adverse atmospheric conditions yesterday on the Misano World Circuit, Ombra Racing preferred to cancel the previewed session of tests. Massimo Pollini, Technical Manager: "The test program today previewed a shake-down for the two cars that will be engaged in the ATS Formel 3 Cup, with the attempt to verify the improvements rought during the winter pause. Useless to risk in these conditions, already we have activated ourselves in order to carry out a test in the course of the next week." The session test is confirmed for next 12th March near the "Riccardo Paletti" race track in Varano de' Melegari.

Ombra Racing ready for new season
Ombra Racing is ready for the new season. On 18th January i arrived in Chignolo d' Isola the first Dallara F308, the new car "made in Varano" renewed in the aerodynamic, in the front suspensions and answering to new FIA security normative: this is the joker of the team for the British Formula 3 International and for the eventually international events, which the Masters F3 and the Grand Prix of Macao. Massimo Pollini, Technical Manager: "After our visit in Autosport, the important fair of the motorsport in Birminghan, we returned in Italy with several technical innovations for 2008. We have carried out indeed an optimal job in factory, with all the team, now we are ready for the ATS Formel 3 Cup." F.3 - Test Day in Spain
Last test session in 2007 for Ombra Racing: three days test in Spain, preview of the ATS Formel 3 Cup 2008. Yesterday the Dallara-Mugen Honda, conduct from Matteo Chinosi and Federico Leo, have been engaged in track at "Circuit Ricardo Tormo" of Valencia. The good weather conditions, have allowed to the Ombra's driver, to carry out an intensive job programh, with interesting times. Tomorrow and thursdays Ombra Racing will be newly in track an the "Circuit de Catalunya" in Barcelona.

F.3 - Test day in Monza
Thursday and Friday Ombra Racing has carried out two test sessions on the Monza track. Matteo Chinosi, after a technical problem in Thursday morning, has carried out an intensive job program, with optimal times. Federico Leo has continued his apprenticeship in the new category, having improved constantly his lap times in a very fast track how Monza. Massimo Pollini, Team Principal: "Two optimal days of test, in spite of the very low temperatures. Matteo Chinosi has completed her job program. F.3 - Ombra and Federico Leo together in ATS F3 Cup 2008
New arrival in Ombra Racing, Federico Leo is the new driver for ATS Formula 3 CUP 2008: the young driver from Milan will join the confirmed Matteo Chinosi on the second Dallara Honda. After the first meeting between Federico and the Team, which took place in October on Adria and Varano tracks, followed by two intense test days which took place last week in Mugello and Misano, the good results convinced both to sign an agreement. The good weather conditions in the tracks allowed to perform the best the programme, the feeling between Federico, the car and the Team staff was very good from the first beginning. Federico and Ombra�s 2007 end of the year will include a strict programme with tests in Italy and Spain and in the spring 2008 they will run in the German tracks of ATS Formel 3 Cup. Fedrico Leo stated: �I am very satisfied for this agreement with Ombra: I want to pass in category, run in Formula 3 and now I am doing it in a professional Team, their Dallara astonished me. I can�t look forward to go on with the hard work for the assessment in the new class, I just want to start the new championship at my best�. Massimo Pollini: �Federico adapted very quickly to the new class, he was prompt and continuous from the very beginning, without doing mistakes, putting on carefully to the test programme which we arranged for him: we can�t ask for anything more. Now we are going on with tests so he could know tracks where he will be running in 2008, we are going to start the official season at the top�.

The basis for a truly promising 2008 ATS Formula 3 Cup season has been laid as early as now. The Formula 3 Association e.V. resolved upon a provisional race calendar for the coming season. The rounds of the 2008 ATS Formula 3 Cup season will be held during the course of ten events. Each of the race weekends held from late April to mid-October, 2008, will feature two races. Usually, the races will be held on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. F.3 - Ombra Racing & Matteo Chinosi together again
Ombra Racing�s 2007 season has just finished and it�s already time to define programs for next year. The first step for year 2008 branded Ombra is Matteo Chinosi�s confirmation. The young italian driver debuted in Formula 3 with the same racing team Bergamo based and he grew in the last season gaining for 4 times the podium in the last 6 races of the season. 2008 program for Chinosi and Ombra Racing comprehends racing in the German Formula 3 championship � target: first victory and fighting for top positions in the championship � and two races in the English Formula 3 championship. �I am very happy about the agreement: the following in the cooperation between me and Ombra Racing could help us to collect what we did during this season. In 2008 I will know tracks and so I will be able to aim reaching top positions, to the first win there is so less. I would like to thank all the team for believing in me and for trusting me with tangible investments� told us Matteo Chinosi after signing the contract. Massimo Pollini, who is always looking for motorsport talent, remarked Chinosi�s confirmation: �I am satisfied by the fact I could go on cooperation with Matteo who has already showed his talent last season but he has not express it at 100%. During all last season 2007 Chinosi showed a big determination, strong will and he could redefine himself, characteristics which could help him to advance race after race together with the team work: his higher level quality during the last season stressed this evidence. We will work together at our higher level and we know that the technical and human degree we will face are very high but moreover we know we could have both partial and final success. We will try to do our best in the English races, too�.

Formula 3 - Viva l'Italia!
Lo scorso week end a Monza si � concluso il campionato italiano di Formula 3. Ombra Racing non vi ha partecipato, ma, dopo l'esaltante stagione nella ATS Formel 3 Cup tedesca con i lusinghieri risultati ottenuti da Matteo Chinosi, aveva pensato di richiedere una wild card, una sorta di passerella di fine stagione sulla pista di casa, ottima occasione per salutare sostenitori e amici, nonch� per permettere a Matteo di aumentare il proprio bagaglio di esperienza. Ombra ha presentato la propria domanda con la richiesta di correre in deroga al regolamento, poich� Chinosi aveva gi� disputato una gara in Formula 3 sul tracciato di Monza (il quinto round del campionato inglese nello scorso giugno), seppur con vettura e pneumatici differenti rispetto a quelli permessi dal regolamento vigente in Italia. Ovviamente la richiesta � stata inoltrata specificando chiaramente il fatto che il pilota e la squadra sarebbero stati esclusi dall'assegnazione di punti e di eventuali premi. Dopo lungo tergiversare, a seguito della riunione della Sottocommissione Velocit� tenutasi lo scorso 11 ottobre (un giorno prima della chiusura delle liste per la gara monzese!), l'iscrizione � stata rifiutata, senza motivazione ufficiale alcuna, cosa che, se non per educazione, almeno per rispetto ai soldi versati per le licenze, riteniamo sarebbe stata dovuta. La motivazione ufficiosa, invece, parla di non unanimit� dei team del Campionato Italiano ad accettare l'Ombra per l'evento di Monza. Teniamo a specificare che il rifiuto non pu� essere considerato relativo alla nostra squadra ma al solo pilota Matteo Chinosi, poich� se avessimo deciso di schierare, ad esempio, Carlo Van Dam, laureatosi campione in Germania, lo avremmo potuto fare senza bisogno di richiedere deroga alcuna, visto che quel pilota non ha mai disputato gare in Formula 3 a Monza nella stagione in corso. Ma se stiamo parlando di un campionato organizzato dalla CSAI, non dovrebbe essere l'organizzatore stesso a decidere chi far correre e chi no? A chi assegnare deroghe e a chi no? Sa tanto, da parte dei responsabili di questa scelta, di ricerca di un alibi, di uno scaricare sulle squadre la loro mancanza di responsabilit� sulla decisione presa; infatti, team manager di almeno tre squadre che partecipano al Campionato Italiano, ci hanno confermato la loro assoluta disponibilit� alla nostra partecipazione. Non va dimenticato che per l'ultimo appuntamento della stagione era stata gi� concessa, dallo stesso organizzatore, una deroga a tutte le squadre del Campionato Italiano Formula 3 che, a fine settembre, hanno potuto svolgere due giorni di test sul tracciato brianzolo. Ricordiamo inoltre il paradosso del messicano Pablo Sanchez che, nonostante sia sceso in pista a Monza a pi� riprese con la Formula Master (vettura equiparata alla Formula 3 secondo l�Allegato J della FIA), � stato comunque ammesso alla gara e all'assegnazione dei punti. Chiaramente per noi ne aveva tutto il diritto. Ma ci chiediamo allora: perch� per Chinosi non � stata fatta la stessa cosa, confermando peraltro che il pilota non avrebbe preso punti n� eventuali premi? Perch� la CSAI ha deciso di penalizzare un suo affiliato, un pilota di 18 anni che durante la stagione 2007 ha tenuto alto l'onore dei colori italiani in Europa? Siamo rimasti davvero sconcertati di fronte a queste decisioni, anche se confermano, una volta di pi�, la bont� della scelta che facemmo nel 2006, quando decidemmo di rivolgere le nostre attenzioni a campionati esteri. Non siamo l'unico team italiano che corre soltanto all'estero, con impegno, professionalit� e risultati. Forse questa cosa dovrebbe far riflettere qualcuno...ma siamo molto dubbiosi che questo succeda.

Race 2 in Monza has been a "demolition derby", infact it has only seen thirteen cars to the chequered flag. Taking advantage from other people's problems and leading a shrewd race Ombra Racing drivers, supported from numerous fans of the team, arrive to the goal close of the points zone. Without two incidents the race results could have been better. Dominick Muermans has been hit from Andersen to the turn 1, re-entered to the pit lane in order to control the posterior of his car, has been useful for the successive safety car for rejoined to the group and concluding 9th. Johnny Cecotto Jr. has fought for recovery from the last grid positions, but in the agitated final laps, in the Parabolica, a contact with Avila damaged his front suspension, compromising his final placing to the 10th place. The results of the warm-up, if obtained in qualification, would have allowed us to leave very better in race 1. All ready for the appointment of Monza of the International Formula Master, the last race of the championship. Ombra Racing will run on the house track, with the objective to improve the positions in general standings. The team can still fight for the fourth final place, while Johnny Cecotto Jr. could quite conquer the third place in drivers� general one. ATS F3 Cup - Round 9, Oschersleben, Race 2
A fantastic second place for Matteo Chinosi with one splendid - fourth podium in last 6 races - and an optimal sixth position for Federico Glorioso closed the Ombra Racing adventure in the ATS Formel 3 Cup 2007. After a wet warm-up, in which Chinosi realizes the better time, the race is carried out on dry track. Matteo leaves from the second row, penalized from the debatable decision of the race commissioners after the facts of the second qualifying session. Matteo leads one race very consisting, conquests the third party place already to the first turn, follows Vervisch for all the race inducing it to the error on the 15th lap. To free track Chinosi demonstrates to have a valid race rhythm, quite the best one than that one of the winner of the championship Van Dam. Unfortunately only three laps separate him from the chequered flag don�t allow him to overwhelm the gap from the Dutch driver. Federico, instead, starts from the eighth position, leads a very determined race, battling with Solgat and Klein, on who was the better one: on the goal he is sixth, his second better performance of the season. Massimo Pollini, Principal Team: "Another great race for our team. Ombra Racing has demonstrated, once more, its highest competitiveness. The modifications predisposed on the cars have improved the performances, we have managed emergencies very well after qualifications 1, replacing, to Matteo's car, the suspension in a very quick time. Unfortunately the decision taken by the race direction in qualification 2 has penalized us a lot, the bitter pill is that in Sachsenring the same director had penalized our driver for an identical episode: if the regulations are that one they should always be applied in the same way. In any case Matteo has been indeed very good to conquer another podium, by now he is ready for the first victory, there has been a constant increase during all the championship. Federico has given his maximum, in regard to the fact that he arrives from an injury, I�m satisfied. Now we will be all in Monza for the last race of the International Formula Master, we wait all our fans in Autodromo Nazionale starting from Thursday." The first race on the track of Oschersleben has been conditioned from the bad weather conditions. At the start the track was in a very wet condition. Unlucky race for Federico Glorioso, forced to re-enter to the pit lane, he concluded to the last place. Matteo Chinosi confirmed the fourth place obtained in qualifying session, unfortunately he was newly penalized by race commissioners for a distraction. After conquering the third position at the departure, to 3 turns from the finish line Van Dam attacked him with yellow flags exposed. No penalization for the Dutch driver and the podium unfortunately vanishes. Result Race 1

ATS F3 Cup - Round 9, Oschersleben, Qualifying
Good results for Ombra Racing in the qualifying sessions. Federico Glorioso returned in track after his hand injury, he has resumed confidence with the car and closed the sessions respective to seventh and eighth place. Double fourth position for Matteo Chinosi, after the second place in free practice. In the first session Matteo realizes his better time in the third lap, unfortunately an accident in the successive lap has closed in advance his qualify. Great job of the Ombra Racing box: they replace the suspension in thirty minutes. During the second session some drivers obtain the time on the yellow flags, but in contrast with Sachsenting race, where Chinosi was penalized, the race directors did not take part, therefore in this case it is vanished the first row, inasmuch as Matteo had raised his foot just in order to avoid new endorsements. Ombra Racing's men and cars are travelling to Deutschland, where in the weekend on the track of Oschersleben, the last round of ATS Formel 3 Cup will be run. Matteo Chinosi, after a triple podium in the two last round, is determined, he wants to be confirmed to these levels, Oschersleben is a track that knows already, he has raced here in the second round of championship in May. Federico Glorioso back in track, after the hand injury in Assen; the young driver of Ombra Racing will use the free practice, tomorrow, in order to verify his physical estate. Unfortunately Federico has been replaced from Marika Diana in Ombra's infirmary, she could not be protagonist in the Trophy. Massimo Pollini, Team Principal: "We have predisposed some new solutions on our cars, in order to improve the already optimal performance up to now achieved. We are trusting to conclude the championship with two very good races."

Good sensations for Ombra Racing before race 2: Cecotto Jr. in pole position and very good times in warm-up. At the start Llobell has beaten Johnny off the line; Van der Drift closed in on second-placed Cecotto Jr rapidly, the young Ombra Racing driver fought hard to maintain position and crossed the finish line with best finish to date for Ombra Racing. Unlucky race for Dominick Muermans, retired at lap 21 after a race ran in a continuous way. Massimo Pollini, Team Principal: �We left from Brands Hatch with a great second place, our best result in the season, but there is a little regret as we were very near the victory. After the Saturday�s technical problem in qualifying session in race 1, we have repeated the results of free practice, with Johnny in points zone and Dominick author of a good recovery. In Sunday�s race 2 Cecotto Jr. had the fastest lap excluding D'Ambrosio, over all the others. Unfortunately, Dominick was not successful to carry a chequered flag. This is our best weekend in the season with Valencia. Now we are excited for the last race that will be run to Monza, our track. Very good performance for Ombra Racing and Matteo Chinosi in Race 2 on the Sachsenring. The East German track was the venue for the eighth and penultimate round of the ATS F3 Cup. Matteo has conquered the third position after a very hard duel with Verdonck: it is the third season podium for the young Italian driver and his Dallara F306 - Mugen Honda. Ombra Racing wants to finish the season stylishly during the last race weekend in Oschersleben, after two second places and one third place lacks only a victory! Massimo Pollini, Team Principal: "We left Sachsenring satisfied. Matteo did not know the track, he adapts himself on time with results near the best drivers, unfortunately the exposed yellow flag in first qualifying session penalized the team, but since we had the technical problem in race 1 it is useless to recriminate. The team has worked very hard in order to arrange the car for race 2 and Matteo has given us a great performance with a very good managing of the race, conquering another podium. ATS F3 Cup - Round 7, Assen, Races: 3 podiums for Ombra Racing!
Fantastic weekend for Ombra Racing on the Dutch circuit of Assen, where the seventh round of the ATS Formel 3 Cup, to the inside of the prestigious Bavaria Champ Car, has been carried out: three podiums in the two races, this the final score of the Bergamo based team. After the qualifying sessions the Dallara-Mugen wise prepared by the Ombra Racing staff had allowed Matteo Chinosi and Federico Glorioso to place themselves in the first positions of the grill. Matteo was in pole position, for race 2, until little minutes from the chequered flag, unfortunately have been disturbed in his last turn from one slower car. Also Marika Diana, rejoined the team after holidays, has good performances in the Trophy. Before the race 1, the misfortune remembered Ombra Racing, Federico Glorioso slipping in the paddock and had one hand fracture. The young driver test to dispute race 1 equally, defends with tenacity the 4th position, but after a contact with an adversary the pain becomes too strong, after 6 laps he must abandon the race: the medical assessments of the case will be all in order to estimate the times of recovery. Also Marika Diana is forced to abandon the race for a technical problem. Matteo Chinosi, instead, releases well from the second row, leads a shrewed and determined race. At the chequered flag he is in second position, only after the Dutchman Van Dam, leader of the championship that plays in your track: is the first podium of the season for Matteo! Race 2 reserves still fantastic emotions to the men of Ombra Racing, Chinosi with a great start conquests the second place that he will maintain until to the finish line where in flown he strikes Van Dam after a very hard duel. Also in the Trophy Ombra Racing is on the podium, whith the third position of Marika Diana. Under the podium there is a great happiness, two second places in the races and a third place in the Trophy makes to enter of right this weekend between the best ones in the history of the Italian team. Thanks to resolutions to improve our performances in qualification, what that has allowed us to capitalize our race rhythm, and in the previous races we were able to demonstrated the level of the drivers who concluded to podium. Very good performance in race 2 for Ombra Racing drivers. Matteo Chinosi finished 5th after a very hard fight with the belgian Vervisch. Matteo Chinosi has concluded to the 4th place after a beautiful duel with Klien: he has overtake his adversary at the last chicane before the finish line (see the photo). Good performance for the Ombra Racing boys in the qualifying sessions that have determined the starting grid for the two races of the ATS F3 Cup in the Rizla Race Day. Matteo Chinosi has obtained the 6th time in both the sessions, showing but an optimal rhythm in race configuration that will allow it to play the noble positions of race classification. Federico Glorioso has closed to 7th place in the first qualification that assures it the start from 4th row in race 1, while in the second session it is not successful to improve his time and will take the way for race 2 from 5th row. ATS F3 Cup - Round 6, Assen, preview
The German Formula 3 scene feels comfortable, at Assen. For the third time already, Germany�s fastest single-seater series, the ATS Formula 3 Cup, will race within the scope of the Rizla Race Day held at the TT Circuit Assen. This weekend, the series again will contest two sprint races and in each of the two 25-minute rounds, the drivers involved will go flat out right from the start to the finish line. The Dutch track is a very good memory for Ombra Racing: just here the slid year the first victory in this championship. This year the first objective is to drive away the misfortune that has accompanied the team in the Lausitz's week end, so as to be able to increase the championship points obtained with Matteo Chinosi and Federico Glorioso.

In the Niederlausitz region, the ATS Formula 3 Cup is going to complete the first half of its 2007 season. This weekend, the fifth round of the season will be held at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz. Matteo Chinosi and Federico Glorioso, after the good results obtained in the first part of championship that in the tests carried out - two weeks ago - just in this track, has like the minimal objective the points zone. Marika Diana has been up to now the only driver to always mark points in the Trophy in all the races end disputed here, does not want sure to lose the invidibiale supremacy, moreover it begins by now to being accustomed to the air of the podium and will try to make it to become one pleasant habit. International Formula Master teams took part in the Series� official test day at Oscherleben today, in sight of the sixth round of championship will be run on 25 and 26 August just on the German track. Ombra Racing has setup just the job with the main objective to find the best setting of the car in optical race, completing very many laps with used tyres, situation in which it will be necessary to make the difference in the critical moments of the race. Johnny Cecotto Jr. has gone 107 laps while Dominick Muermans has made 66. Another race with weather conditions very difficult: the rain stops before the start, the track is still bathed and the drivers they must decide if to use rain tyres or slick tyres. At the start Ombra Racing drivers race is decided. Dominick is very unlucky, technical problems stopped the car at the green light. After the formation lap, Johnny went to the pit for change the rain tyres with slick tyres: the decision was the right one and handed him the second podium of the season after a very exciting recovery. The Ombra Racing box is very happy! Massimo Pollini, Team Principal: "it has been a very difficult weekend from the technical point of view and for weather conditions, although this time the fortune has not been much benevolent with Ombra Racing, we leaves from Sweden with optimal results. The team has been perfect for all the weekend. In race 1 Dominick has been much concrete, obtaining his best result of the season. In race 2 Johnny it has been fantastic, we have risked the change of tyres after the formation lap, he has been cleverer to follow our indications from the pit, he has forced at the right moment, conquering the second podium in the season. So the first few laps were difficult with the rain and being at the back. I had to be careful but I knew we would be quick eventually. Massimo Pollini, Team Principal: "The tests have been very good and have forwarded the increase of performance for Ombra Racing drivers. Both our pilots were beginners on this track, but after the necessary familiarization, they have obtained good times, to one small distance from the better time. Something in the exploitation of the new tyres still lacks , but we are sure to succeed to resolve also this problem in the race week end."

F.Master - Porto / F.3 - N�rburgring
Double commitment this weekend for Ombra Racing. On the city-track of Porto (Portugal) the 4th round of the International Master Formula championship will take place and at the N�rburgring GP circuit will take place the 4th round of ATS Formel 3 Cup. F.Master: Johnny Cecotto Jr. and Dominick Muermans will try to drive away the bad luck that has characterized the races in Pau and Brno: A weekend without technical problems is the main target. F.3: Matteo Chinosi and Federico Glorioso want to confirm the good performances obtained in the Monza's Round of the English championship: the goal is the points zone and even the first podium of the season. Marika Diana wants to obtain another podium in the Trophy reserved to the cars constructed before 2004.

F.3 - Good performances for Ombra Racing in British F3 Series
Monza 23-24 June 2007 Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 Intenational Series (dry track) Ombra Racing spent a very good week end in Monza round of Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series. On track there were Matteo Chinosi and Federico Glorioso, Ombra Racing drivers in ATS Formel 3 Cup, and also Dominick Muermans, official driver Ombra in International Formula Master, with a Dallara of Swiss Racing Team SRT supervised by Ombra Racing. Chinosi and Glorioso, after the adaptation to the Avon tyres used in the English championship (in Germany Cup the official tyres are Yokohama), disputed very good races. Matteo obtained two 12th place after two beautiful recoveries, respective from 20th and 24th position at the start, fighting at par with the Team Raikkonen driver Jelley, third in the championship before Monza. Federico closed in 17th position in race 1 (27th at the start) and in 21th position in race 2 (26th at the start) after a very hard duel with the quoted Finnish driver Mustonen. Weekend to forget for Muermans, retired in race 1 after a contact at the first turn in lap 1, retired also in race 2 after a very spectacular incident at the parabolic turn with many hoods, but don�t worry just a little fear for fans: Dominick is ok, but there was much job to do for the mechanics!

Men and cars of Ombra Racing are travelling to Pau, the French town in the Pyrenees, where the second round of the International Formula Master championship will take place. After the good results of Valencia, where Cecotto Jr. has conquered the first podium of the season, the team is determined and confident to achieve another satisfying week-end. Before the departure to Pau Massimo Pollini, Technical Director of the Team, said: "The circuit in Pau will be a new track for all drivers. We are sure that Johnny will know once again how to understand quickly the secrets and to keep the head positions, moreover we are sure that Dominick will be able to repeat the good results of the week end in Valencia and to increase his confidence with the car."We only have to wait and see the results from the track: Good Luck Guys! Sunday 20th may 2007 Valencia - Autodromo Ricardo Tormo International Formula Master Round 1 On the grid of race 2 the Ombra Racing drivers Cecotto Jr. and Muermans are respectively 6th and 22nd. Johnny succeeds avoiding the crash at the start and remains in the leaders group. Dominick has an amazing start , same as in race 1, regains some positions, but unfortunately his race finishes after 5 laps. He goes in the sand of the escape ways to avoid another car in troubles. Cecotto Jr. is in third position but due to problems at the gearbox, he cannot be defend himself adequately from other drivers, he succeed ending equally to the 5th place with 4 more precious points for the championship. Saturday 19th may 2007 Valencia - Autodromo Ricardo Tormo International Formula Master Round 1 Over 30 cars on the starting lane of the first race of the Formula Master Championship; Ombra Racing drivers Johnny Cecotto Jr. and Dominick Muermans are respectively 4th and 17th at the end of the qualifying session. Johnny's got a good start, but Gatto, behind him, keep his position so the young venezuelan makes the first corner in 4th place driving at a regular pace. Dominick, after a very good start recovering some positions, is involved in a front-rear in the middle of the group that compromise his race forcing him in the rear part of the group. When, after 13 laps leading car driven by Gotz got problems, followers are quick to pass him and our Johnny place himself in third position that will keep easily until the end of the race conquering the first 2007 podium for Ombra Racing. After a year of experience in the Italian F3 diciottenne the Glorious Federico will face the ATS F3 German Cup, placing side by side to Marika Diana and Matteo Chinosi under it stretches Ombra.
